Upconversion luminescence, namely, anti-Stokes luminescence, means that the material is excited by low energy light and emits high energy light, that is, the material emits short wavelength and high frequency light excited by long wavelength and low frequency light.

Upconversion luminescence
According to Stokes’ law, materials can only be excited by high energy light and emit low energy light. In other words, materials can emit long wavelength and low frequency light when excited by short wavelength and high frequency light.
On the contrary, upconversion luminescence refers to the material is excited by light with low energy and emits light with high energy. In other words, the material emits light with short wavelength and high frequency when excited by light with long wavelength and low frequency.

Material application editor
It is mainly used for infrared detection of visible light emitted by infrared light excitation, biological markers, warning signs with long afterglow, fire passage signs or indoor wall painting as night light, etc.
Upconversion materials can be used for biomonitoring, drug therapy, CT, MRI and other markers
