The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival or the Double Ninth Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival that falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. The origin of the Dragon Boat Festival is related to the ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan’s suicide by jumping into the river. In memory of Qu Yuan, people held dragon boat races and ate Zongzi on this day.  In addition, there are many customs during the Dragon Boat Festival, such as hanging calamus and mugwort to ward off evil spirits and prevent epidemics, and wearing five colored silk thread to ensure safety. These customs not only have rich cultural connotations, but also reflect people’s good wishes for a healthy and happy life.
