NIR fluorescent dyes are widely used in night vision, invisible materials, laser printing, solar cells and other fields because of their absorption in the NIR region (750 ~ 2500nm).
When used in biological imaging, it has near-infrared absorption/emission wavelength, excellent water solubility, low biotoxicity, specific tissue or cell targeting and good cell penetration, etc.
Typical types are cyanine dyes, BODIPY, rhodamines, quarboxyls, and porphyrins.
